How to measure your foot
- 1
Trace your foot
Stand on a sheet of paper against a wall. Trace the outline with a pencil held straight up, keeping the pen against your foot.
- 2
Measure the length
Draw a line at your heel and at your longest toe. Measure between the two lines in centimetres.
- 3
Measure the width
Measure across the widest part of the outline. This tells you if you need a wide or regular fit.
- 4
Match both feet
Feet differ in size, use the larger foot and round up to the nearest size. Between sizes? Go half a size up.
Still between sizes?
- •For running and sports shoes, choose a thumb's width of extra room at the toe.
- •Formal shoes should fit snugly, leather stretches with wear.
- •Measure in the evening, when feet are at their largest.
- •When in doubt, go half a size up, both leather and mesh give slightly with wear.
